Rope and pulley system, bed sheets, wash basin, detergent and water
site specific installation/performance
This site specific installation/performance during Baltimore’s annual Artscape Festival was designed to bring an element that is not usually found or expected on a commercial street. People come here for entertainment and to get away from their domestic lives, so when a domestic element is introduced in such a setting people take notice.
Clotheslines were run between the Charles Theater façade and the parking garage across the street where wet bed sheets were hung to dry. This piece played the role of a visual anomaly, therefore the audience had to ask themselves about the relevance of such a piece on such a commercial street.
